Astrology Update: Aquarius
Hello, friends. We take a break from our regular scheduled programming for a pretty massive astrology update. There’s a lot of movement happening in January, particularly with the inner planets and their continued alignment with the solar seasons. So. Many. Stellium. Babies. All of the planets are doing weird things right now and for the most part, many of the astrocasts I’ve seen have only been able to communicate these transits in chunks so I figured I could maybe come in here with the long form and give a full breakdown, complete with dates, glossary, and a nifty little chart to show what I’m telling. Let’s dive in.
Some basic things to lay our foundation and a gentle reminder that I use western Tropical astrology which has its roots in Greek mythology. Why? It’s the most easily accessible, if I’m being perfectly honest. I could also do this with the Celtic Tree Calendar, but that’s super niche, friends. Broad and general are good sometimes. Anyway. Generally, in astrology the planet is the “what”, the sign is the “how”, and the house is the “where”. For an even deeper reading and more details, you can use the degree of the planet and/or aspects (angles) a planet is making to other planets. For our chat today, we will only be looking at planet, sign, and house and only briefly touching on aspects, so feel free to go deeper with degrees and aspects. Additionally, I like the TimePassages app and the Magic of I astrology planner as tools. Neither is perfect, but they’ve both been good sources for me when doing my astrology checks. Moving on, let’s jump into our astrocast for January.
Something interesting that I noticed while doing all of this research is that the current alignment (or conjunction) of planets is in Capricorn, which we’ve discussed, but upon deeper exploration I realized that Capricorn energy is experienced via leadership, conservativism, and respectability, which felt pretty on-brand for what I’ve been witnessing out and about in our world. There has been a major push for dominance and preparation in so many areas of the collective experience lately and I can’t help but notice that having the celestial bodies responsible for individuality, relationships, communication, and action is a heck of a coincidence in my opinion. Even more interesting has been the response to this push, which funnily enough, matches the Aquarian energy of humanitarianism, breaking tradition, and well, being weird, that we are currently moving into. Curious, indeed. Please allow for some transition in time and potentially in house as this blog ages, but there are some other curious coincidences in our current and upcoming alignment, which I’ll show in this breakdown:
· The Sun is currently, as of 1/19/26, in Aquarius in the 7th house. We can translate this as the individual (Sun) is experiencing humanitarian, revolutionary shifts (Aquarius) in areas of marriage, legal affairs, and community (7th house).
· Mercury will be in Aquarius on 1/20/26 in the 7th house. We can translate this as energies around intellect, communication, and speed of delivery will shift towards eccentric, humanitarian, and/or revolutionary patterns in the areas of marriage, legal affairs, and community.
· Venus moved into Aquarius on 1/17/26 and is also in the 7th house, bringing shifts in art, aesthetics, and boundaries towards, again, humanitarian, eccentric, very new paths, primarily in marriage, legal affairs, and community areas.
· Mars also moves into Aquarius on 1/23/26 into the 7th house (dang, it’s crowded in there) bringing shifts in action, advocacy, and conflict towards the eccentric, pattern breaking, off-beat path in marriage, legal affairs, and community.
· Jupiter is still retrograde in Cancer in the 12th house, bringing expansion and growth in home-making, healing, and emotional wellness areas by challenging past-self behaviors and eliminating harmful cycles we identify in ourselves. Evolve or repeat is the name of this game.
· Saturn is in Pisces in the 9th house, bringing generational lessons, destiny shifts, and truths via dreams, imagination, inspiration, and ideals in the areas of higher education, spirituality, philosophy, and travel.
· Uranus is on the retrograde train as well in earthy Taurus in the 11th house, creating generational opportunities for new adventures via lessons in practicality, nurturance, and groundedness in areas of friends, future tech, and alliances of all kinds. This retrograde also sets the foundation for a 7 year individual cycle, so be mindful of what seeds you plant.
· Neptune is moving into Aries on 1/26/26, but still in the 9th house, moving generation dreams, illusions, ideals, and mysticism via action, initiation, and confrontation in areas of higher education, spirituality, philosophy, and travel.
· Pluto, as we all know, is currently in Aquarius as well, and therefore also in the 7th house. This is also a generational planet, and this placement brings revolution, transformation, passion, intensity, and depth to the whole kit and caboodle.
· For an extra dose of fun, although it’s not a planet, the asteroid Chiron is currently retrograde in Aries in the 9th house, which brings healing, awareness of wounds, and wisdom to areas of higher education, spirituality, philosophy, and travel by bringing those wounds to the surface to be accepted and released, so there is hope in all of this.
I’m wondering how many others are seeing what I’m seeing in this astrology report. There are several interesting patterns and the current emphasis on the 7th and 9th houses deserves consideration in my opinion. I can’t predict or say exactly what this means or what is going to happen or how it’s all going to go down, I just know that change is coming and probably soon.
